Why Worry Stones? Top 3 Reasons
You might have noticed that many of the sets we offer at Chakra Rox include worry stones. “Why?,” you ask. Well, I’ve got a few reasons.
Worry Stones Reason Number 1 — SIZE AND WEIGHT
Our worry stones come in a great size (most are 50X40X10 mm). They fit easily in the palm of your hand and feel comfortable with a solid weight that isn’t too much. They also fit nicely in my pocket and aren’t too heavy. (I’ll be honest, some days I’ll have 5 or 6 stones in my pockets to add a little extra inspiration to my day. These aren’t nearly as heavy as some of my larger stones so they don’t weigh me down if you know what I mean..
Worry Stones Reason Number 2 — THE GROOVE
Each of our worry stones come complete with a nice smooth groove down the middle of the stone. (For reference: Palm stones do NOT include this groove.) Much like the big attraction with the fidget spinners, this groove provides a calming sensation when you rub it with your index finger and thumb. As your fingers experience the texture of the stone (some are smoother than others) you can feel a little of the stress melting away. It is said these too can assist with Anxiety and ADHD. The magic is really all in the groove!

How Do I Use my Worry Stone?
You can use a worry stone like any other stone. Place it in your pocket, under your pillow, next to your bed, in your purse, etc. However, as I mentioned above, the beauty of the Worry Stone lies in the groove. When you find yourself anxious, nervous or just fidgety, simply place the worry stone between your thumb and forefinger and follow the groove in a circular motion. Like a fidget spinner, this activity tends to ease the mind and creates an outlet to wind down any discomfort or anxiety. Just keep following that groove until you realize that these uncofortable feelings have passed. If you want to take it to another level, you can do this in a meditative state and add an intention to it, preferably one that ties in to the supportive properties of the stone you are using.

Selenite (often referred to as Liquid Light) is most commonly used as a tool to cleanse and charge your other stones and crystals.
Selenite is a crystallized form of Gypsum, which is used for good luck and protection. It is a natural fibrous stone. Its powerful vibration can clear, open, and activate the Crown Chakra and supports various types of spiritual work. It can also be used to strengthen the memory. Selenite promotes tranquility, a peaceful stone that creates deep calm. Selenite will work to clear your confusion and assist you in seeing the bigger picture.
Selenite crystals help to remove all energy blockages in the body. It is also said to provide protection when placed in corners of a room, home or designated area due to its ability to ward off negatvity.
It’s one of the most recommended stones for energy healers because of its insight and peaceful energy.
Charging other Stones with Selenite
In addition to having it’s own healing and balancing properties, Selenite is reportedly capable of charging other crystals, gems, and stones. Simply place those on your plate for 4 or more hours at a time every few days to retain a consistent strength.
Caring for your Selenite
Selenite is a soft form of crystal and scratches and flakes very easily, so be gentle. It is also a self sustaining crystal, which mean is doesn’t really require any cleansing or charging, but it great for cleansing and charging other stones. However, I do think it’s a good practice to brighten that energy on occassion, which I describe below. Also, as a Reiki Master, I sometimes have a particularly intense session (I place Selenite beneath my Reiki table for and extra boost good mojo). When this happens I also will incorporate a cleanse of sage or moonlight (see below) to relieve any lingering negative energies.
- Cleaning: Do not use water or any liquids to clean your Selenite plate. Simply use a dry cloth or paper towel and wipe clean.
- Charging: While most suggest that Selenite does not require to be charged, it you would like to charge it, you can do so by placing in a window or on your patio (in a safe place) or any spot where it can bathe in the moonlight overnight.
- Cleansing: To cleanse the plate of any bad energies that may have collected over time, use sage or sage incense. Simply suggest the negative energies release to make room for positive ones as you gently wave the sage or incense around you plate so that the generated smoke mingles with all sides. Placing in moonlight can also additionally cleanse your Selenite.
NOTE: KEEP SELENITE AWAY FROM LIQUIDS. Selenite is vulnerable to water — it will dissolve. Please avoid placing near any water sources. When physically cleaning, please wipe with dry cloth only.
